Prof. Wejdan Abu-Elhaija
 

Wejdan Abu-Elhaija, Professor in Electrical Machines is the first female dean of engineering in Jordan. She is the dean of King Abdullah II Faculty of Engineering at Princess Sumaya University for Technology-PSUT. She obtained her BSc. in electrical engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology. In 1999, she completed her PhD in electrical machines from Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK.

She has won several awards for her research, including Hisham Adeeb Hijjawi Applied Science Award in 2004, the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau Award for the Best Design Model in 2008 and the University of Jordan Centre for Women's Studies Award in 2007.

In 2007, she became the president assistant for quality assurance and chair of the department of electronics engineering in 2009. In 2011 she was appointed the dean of engineering faculty. In 2012 she received the IEEE Clementine Saduwa Award granted in recognition of outstanding contribution in Engineering and IT by Region 8 Sections. She has been awarded the US Department of State’s 2012 Women in Science Hall of Fame award. Early 2013 she has been granted a degree of Doctor of Science in Engineering [honoris causa] for her outstanding services to engineering by the Senate of Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland.

 

Eng. Dana Haddadin

 

En.Dana possesses years of experience in the development and education field through years of work with organizations that deal with empowering and guiding youth into career direction and job placement. Dana holds an MBA degree and a university certificate in Understanding Career Guidance and Education. Dana is passionate towards empowering and offering guidance to youth.

 

 

 

Eng. Fadia El-Issa
 

En.Fadia EL-Issa has graduated with distinction in Telecommunication Engineering in 2010. Throughout her undergraduate university days, she was a member of the student council, and was nominated to present Jordan in The ITU Telecom Youth Forum 2009.

En.Fadia always believed in having a vision, and she looks forward to be part of the Women in Science team to widen her scope and other women's scope in science and innovation to becoming agents of change in Jordan and the MENA region as a whole.

 

 

Eng. Mageda El-Moubarak
 

En.Mageda is responsible for the power systems lab in Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT). Holds a B.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering from PSUT she held the second rank with a GPA of 90.2% and was awarded “Class 2010 distinction” for her academic achievement.

 

En.Mageda plays an important role through WIS in linking female students with women role models by organizing events.

 

Eng. SADDAM RATROUT

 

 Holds a B.Sc. in Power and Control Engineering from Jordan University 

 

of Science and Technology (JUST) and achieved the first rank among 

 

power and control 2014 graduate students. Now he is studying a Master 

 

in Electrical Engineering. Moreover Eng. Saddam is a lab supervisor in 

 

PSUT responsible for the Power Electronics and Machine labs.

 

 Eng. Saddam is interested in community development, and supporting 

 

the positive cooperation between men and women to make our society 

 

a better place

B.Sc. student Julie Matarweh
 

Mrs.Matarweh is a second year student pursuing Power and Enery degree from PSUT.Chairwoman of Women In Engineering and a huge part in Women In Science team. Highly intuitive and energetic, showing a considerable attention pursuing her career which entitles her to be a distinguished engineering student and professional.

Mrs.Matarweh believes in the roles women must achieve in society and she is setting an example by being this phenomenon person.

One of her most honorable goals is to become the head Minister of Power in Jordan.
